How to please a crowd this long weekend..
Make This BBQ Veggie Burger with Mango Carrot Cabbage slaw. gf option (pictured above) Make a larger helping of the slaw as a side. Pre-bake the patties. The patties are very sturdy when already baked. Put them on the grill for grill marks and to warm them up, grill up the buns, grilled veggies if using some as toppings, some bbq sauce and slaw and done.
Or pass these pretty Sweet Potato adzuki bean sliders around. Dill Aioli check, cucumbers check.
Or this insane Red Lentil and Cauliflower Burger with Onion rings and Chipotle Habanero Mayo. Tried tasted and loved by so many! gf patties
There is no limit on what you can add to the patty and what you can top the patty with! People have tried all sorts of sauces, served them with salads, broccoli slaw and what not.
Beet chickpea sliders for chickpea fans. Gf patties
This Grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese is unconventional, but I tell you it is phenomenal. No added oil and no unpronounceable ingredients. Cheese is gluten-free
Roasted Butternut Slider with Balsamic Caramelized onions and Srirach Mayo.
I had to add this one even though butternut is not in season:) It is so pretty! Use roasted sweet potato or veggies or roasted cauliflower. Roast the cauliflower tossed in oil, salt and pepper at 425 degrees F for 15-20 minutes. I know for shizzle that the cauli tastes awesome with the Sriracha mayo:)
Spicy Tempeh dipped in chickpea flour batter and pan fried.. for this Tempeh Fritter Patty Burger.

Hi, I’ve been seriously reconsidering my eating habits while trying to go vegan. The problem is I’ve been thin all my life and only beginning to get a little fit lately (thanks to work outs). I am worried that my progress will halt if I stop eating the non-veggie food I’ve been eating (stakes, burgers, bacon, beef, sausage, chicken, mayo, etc.) I didn’t eat any meat and didn’t drink any diary produce since two days ago. I don’t know if I’m ready for this. And I don’t know it will affect my diet. Also, I live with my parents and I don’t bring home the bacon. I need advice. Manni.
Richa
Hi Manni,
That is super awesome that you are thinking about a plant based diet. There are several vegan athletes, even a bunch of huge football players who eat only vegan foods, so rest assured that you dont need animal foods to maintain your workouts.
Since you are living with your parents, it could be tricky at first. Do talk to them about your meal preferences and why you are choosing so.
– If they are accommodating, then they can make variations of the the same food they eat but veganize it by using things like fake cheese or adding tempeh or fake bacon etc to a portion instead of meat, using oil to saute the vegetables instead of butter and using other subs for dairy, eggs etc in a small portion of the meat.
– if they are not as open to the idea, then you might have to pick up some cooking and learn to make easy meals for yourself. simple pastas, sandwiches and such.
there could be other issues you might be facing as well and the initial transition will take some effort and time like any major change. But it settles down as normal routine after a few months.
Here is a good guide which should cover most of your and your parents questions https://www.guidetoveganliving.org.uk/other-people/teen-vegans-and-non-vegan-parents/
and this video by a teenager who is vegan and lives with his parents also addresses the issues very nicely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4ONfX6DyXI
I hope this helps. If you need more information, please dont hesitate to write to me at richahingle (at) gmail (dot) com . All the very best. -Richa

Those are the best looking veggie burgers I’ve seen in a while. Definitely would love to wolf those down. I’ve also been looking for a sea salt brownie, and your triple chocolate salted brownies might do the trick!
Richa
Thanks Pauline:) oh yes.. some good sea salt in those brownies makes them out of this world!
